If it is rugged and a sense of adventure you are after then North Devon is the place for you. This is where Exmoor meets the sea and you certainly know about it, with the stunning scenery comes big sea cliffs which gives us great ledges to jump from and cliffs to climb. We use number of locations throughout North Devon including Hele Bay, Croyde Bay, Woolacombe and the River Torridge depending on the conditions and activity. .
Some would say, especially the Cornish, that this is the best location in the South West for Coasteering. It has a diverse range of cliffs in such a small area! We do most of our Coasteering from Newquay, however if you ask we do have some other options. Newquay is a Coasteering dream as it has everything from smugglers Caves, natural rapids and whirlpools, some awesome marine life and this is all before you get to the adrenaline fuelled rock jumps into some of the bluest water the UK has to offer.
What times of the year can we go coasteering?
We can offer coasteering all year round if you really want, however we do recommend that the best time to come is between March and October.
Can anyone do coasteering?
In one word yes! Anyone ages 8 and above can do coasteering. You will require a basic level of fitness and swimming for our water based activities (we can provide private sessions for weak or non swimmers). We will have medical forms for you to complete prior to the session and you can talk to us on the day if you have any concerns.
What equipment do you supply?
We will kit you out in full 5mm winter wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and helmet. You can bring your own wetsuit if you wish, however it will need to be a full suit and the guides on the day will need to check it out to make sure it keeps you nice and warm.
Where do you run your coasteering sessions from?
Our primary location for coasteering is at Baggy Point, Croyde. Croyde is recognised as one of the best coasteering locations, not just in North Devon, but in the whole of the UK.
What is the age restriction?
We can take everyone from 8 upwards. However, we do like a parent of the young ones to join in, go on you know you want to!
Are your coasteering sessions Extreme?
Our sessions are suitable for all abilities and safety is made paramount throughout.
What do we need to bring? Where do we meet?
For water based activities you will need to bring swimwear, a towel and footwear you are prepared to get wet (no flip flops or crocs). For climbing sessions please bring warm clothes, a raincoat and trainers.
Your session location will be given on your booking confirmation, during the summer traffic can be heavy so please leave plenty of time!
